Pressing Forward (Feb. 27, 2023)

Howdy y'all, first of all I want to give each of you a shoutout for still living in Wyoming after all you've been going through. I honestly feel bad for you guys and feel super bad for constantly complaining about the heat here. I hope that you guys get some better weather here soon, I really do. Don't lose your faith! HUGE shoutout to my little stud cousin Tel for winning state in wrestling, you're a stud and I'm super proud of you! Also, today marks 8 months for me in the mission, so crazy! So my week in all honesty was a little difficult and seemed to drag on a little bit. Which is weird because every week when I write my emails I can't believe a week has already passed by and this week was a little different. This week I feel like I was fighting myself in not trying to go through the motions. As we all know, our spiritual momentum is very important and we are either gaining or losing, we're never staying the same. The mission has been an incredible spiri...

Checking In (Feb. 20, 2023)

Image
Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing well and know that I'd love to hear from you all sometime! I'm doing really well here, I'm still in Chimbarongo and still training, it's been a very good experience and I've learned so much in my time here. We had a really good week full of work and I ate a lot of empanadas. I love the food here so much honestly. We were able to have the most people I've ever had on any Sunday here at church yesterday. There is so much work we have to do here! Some challenges from this week were that we had a ton of lessons fall through and had to change plans a lot. It was good and I learned a lot, we also got rejected pretty hard at times this week and had a ton of drunks in the streets offering us alcohol and begging us to give them Jesus in their lives. There's a lot of pretty crazy stuff that happens daily and it's gotten pretty normal by now haha. Anyways, I don't have much more to say but I would love to hear from you ...

Getting a Little Lost in the Work (Feb. 13, 2023)

Image
Hey everyone, sorry I didn't write last week, we were pretty busy for our P-Day and I just never had much of a chance. Anyways, an update from here is that we are working extremely hard and we have been seeing the best results I've seen in my entire mission. We had an awesome Zone Conference a couple weeks ago and we changed our focus a little bit and we're super narrowed down to certain things and it's really made a huge difference here in the work. This week we were able to achieve all of our goals and beyond. It's just been so cool to see what happens when truly everything that you do is try to complete your purpose as a missionary, when we focus like this, God literally begins to do the work and we're just his hands and witnesses of his miracles. \ Some stuff that's been going on is that it's been a very long, hot, and extremely dry summer here in Chile, so there have been some really bad wildfires, like super bad, people dying and missing and thousa...

FIRE WEEK!!!! ENDED WITH BAPTISM!!! (Jan. 30, 2023)

Image
This week was so so good!! We got so much work done! This week we're able to hit every single goal that we set, it felt like God was working in Chimbarongo and we were just getting to be a part of it. It was so so cool! We were able to have some awesome Family home Evenings with some less active families and a ton of them came to church yesterday. We taught over 10 lessons this week with people interested in the church and had a lot of success with them. We were just working nonstop everyday and it was such a good week! One crazy thing that happened is we were having lunch with some members one Thursday and we got a call from the APs and said they're in Chimbarongo and wanted to talk to us, so we left lunch early and met at the church. They said that in the morning they had a strong impression to come work with us that day and so they came down and I was able to work with Elder Black that afternoon and it was amazing how much we got done. It was so amazing how much I was able t...

Keepin' at It (Jan. 23, 2023)

Image
Hey everyone, I hope all is well back at home! I don't have too much to write about this week. We did have exchanges here in Chimbarongo with the ZL's and that was fun. Me and Elder Mooso went into a giant catholic church during a service, it was some good stuff haha. The rest of the week was just full of lessons, member visits, and service. It's a grind, but it's so great what we're doing, it may be a little repetitive, but I'm okay with it, because there's literally nothing better that anyone could be a part of. This is a great work!  We also got transfer news and I will be staying here and finish training Elder Carballo, I'm happy about that because we're really starting to see some success here and I'm super excited for what we can achieve this transfer. This morning we went and climbed the little mountain right here next to town and it was super good, if I had it my way, I'd go on a hike every P-Day and probably run the trails, maybe som...

Week of Miracles (Jan. 16, 2023)

Image
Hey everyone! I'd love to hear how you're all doing! We had a super good week down here in this part of the world. Tuesday I had to go to Curico along with a whole lotta other gringos here in our mission to get fingerprinted so we don't all get deported. It was cool to go see more of the mission and get to know some more missionaries, although we did lose a full day of work. The next day we had interviews with President Doxey and it was super good. I'm not sure how else I can say this but, my mission president has to be the best there ever was, like this guy is sent straight from heaven, it's crazy. He has helped me so much throughout the mission! In the rest of the week we found a guy named Mario knocking doors in an apartment building and we have had 3 lessons with him now and he's progressing really well and reading the Book of Mormon! We also were able to get Luz Maria on a date for baptism later this month and we are soo excited for that! She suddenly got a...

Work (Jan. 9, 2023)

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great week! It was a week full of work here like always. I had an exchange here with the DL and it was really good. Friday we had Pastels de Choclo for lunch and it was probably the best thing I've ever eaten in my life. It was so so good. Saturday we went out for a lesson way out in a place called Codegua and ended up missing the last bus and had to walk a good 7-8 miles back to Chimbarongo, that sucked. We were able to stop by some points along the way and teach some so it was alright. Yesterday we had the most people in church I've ever seen here. We had over 50! That's crazy cuz the week before we had like no more than 25. It was a great, spiritual meeting yesterday and I really enjoyed it. That's all I've really got for the week, if anyone wants to chat, I'd love to get messages from you here or on messenger!  Elder Micheli

2023 (Jan. 2, 2023)

Wowwww 2022 came and went!! So so much happened, up until this point in my life, easily the most unforgettable and amazing year of my life! I expect more from 2023 though. I am so grateful that this entire year I will only be on the mission. It is such a blessing to be here! I get to feel the spirit daily and watch people's lives change as they find Jesus Christ, I get to make relationships with incredible people. I've been able to make some of the greatest friends of my life. I get to learn a new culture and embrace and live it, and speak spanish!! Like wow, this is literally incredible! There's truly nothing better I can be doing! If I could invite anyone to do anything, just "Count Your Many Blessings" because all of us are greatly blessed, God has given us so much, all we have, most importantly our families and of course his son, our Savior and Redeemer. We are blessed! This week the work was really good! We were able to have lots of lessons and visits with me...

Feliz Navidad (Dec. 26, 2022)

Hey everyone! I hope you all had an amazing Christmas! I miss you all a ton and was especially missing everyone for Christmas, it's the best time of the year without a doubt and I hope you all enjoyed it! I enjoyed it here for sure! We were able to go to Rancagua for Zone Conference with tons of missionaries and it was a lot of fun! For Christmas eve our zone got together in San Fernando and did service out in the street cleaning up trash, it was lot's of fun. Then we all went out to eat and played games all afternoon. At night we went to Branch President's house for dinner and it was so sooo good. I ate so much I could hardly walk out of there after. Christmas we had church and it was so good, then we went and ate lunch with some members and had dinner with more members later. It was fun to just visit and enjoy time with people. I loved my first Christmas here on the mission. I don't really have too much to say other than I hope you all could feel the spirit of Chris...

1st Week Training and a Baptism! (Dec. 19, 2022)

Image
Hey everyone! This week was really awesome! Tuesday I went up to Rancagua to get my new companion, it was pretty sweet, they put all the trainers on one side and all the new missionaries on the other and they could call out the companions, it was awesome! My new companion is Elder Carballo and he is from Spain and he is a dope dude. He showed up ready to work and I really can ask for anything more in a new companion. I'm super excited for all that we're gonna get to do here in Chimbarongo. We were able to visit a lot of members this week and it was great!  My very first day in the mission field in San Fernando I contacted a guy named Leonidas in the street, and we taught him my entire time there and he came to church every week. He was an incredible guy from Venezuela and Columbia that's been through a lot in his life. We weren't able to baptize him during my time there and that was pretty sad, but we did put him on a date for December 18 while I was there. Yesterday th...
