This week was so so good!! We got so much work done! This week we're able to hit every single goal that we set, it felt like God was working in Chimbarongo and we were just getting to be a part of it. It was so so cool! We were able to have some awesome Family home Evenings with some less active families and a ton of them came to church yesterday. We taught over 10 lessons this week with people interested in the church and had a lot of success with them. We were just working nonstop everyday and it was such a good week! One crazy thing that happened is we were having lunch with some members one Thursday and we got a call from the APs and said they're in Chimbarongo and wanted to talk to us, so we left lunch early and met at the church. They said that in the morning they had a strong impression to come work with us that day and so they came down and I was able to work with Elder Black that afternoon and it was amazing how much we got done. It was so amazing how much I was able to learn in just 1 afternoon. The rest of the week was full of lessons and visits and lot's of great moments and it was so full I can hardly remember what all happened.
Yesterday was a day I will never forget, we had the baptism and confirmation of Luz Maria. We had our very first lesson with her my first week here in Chimbarongo and have taught her ever since and it has been a huge process. She has had to overcome so much in her life and especially in these past months to get where she is and it was so cool to be able to be a part in helping her find the savior in her life. She was so happy to be baptized and everyone that was there felt how incredible the spirit was. It was also an awesome day for my companion, it was his first opportunity to baptize someone and he was so happy, I loved it! I also got to do the confirmation for the first time, it was all such an amazing experience. The gospel changes lives! I have seen it multiple times now in the mission and I testify of it and the power that it has! When people can find Christ in their lives and make changes to follow him, they are greatly blessed by God!
I know that God exists, he has all power and we are all his children and creations, he loves us perfectly, I know that Jesus Christ is his son and he is the center of God's plan for us. Our salvation is in him and each of us can personally receive it, we have to.. "Look unto God with firmness of mind, and apray unto him with exceeding faith, and he will bconsole you in your cafflictions, and he will plead your cause" (Jacob 3:1). God wants to be merciful with us because he loves, he offered his son as the great and ultimate sacrifice. In this life, if we can all come unto Christ we can all partake of his salvation. I love Jesus Christ.
I would love to hear from you guys! I know it still feels like I barely left but I did hit 7 months this week so before I know it, this precious time is going to run out. I would love some updates on what's going on at home, who's going to win the super bowl and all that. I would also love to hear who Jesus Christ is to each of you.
Elder Micheli
