1 Week down in CCM (July 20, 2022)

Hey everyone, this has been one of the craziest weeks of my life. There’s been so much change and things happen that I’m not too sure I can fit it all in this email but I’ll be sure to do my best.

The CCM is great! It’s fenced off in the middle of the hood of Mexico City. It looks wild out there, we hear gunshots all the time, it’s pretty sweet. Inside here is really nice however. Our house is pretty cool and all of us Elders get along really well. The cafeteria is pretty good, that doesn’t say a whole lot from someone like me that is in love with just about any food, but yeah, I like it and I have been gaining some weight lol. I did some quick math and if I gain as much weight every week as I did this last week I’ll be waddling out of here about 225lbs, so umm I better start watching myself. Anyways, the missionaries here are great, the teachers are great, the leaders are great, this place is just full of incredible people all with the same amazing purpose to serve the lord.

If you want to hear any specific stories just feel free to contact me here on email or on messenger. I’ll try and keep this pretty short and just let you all know that I’m doing good and enjoying it here. Leaving the country and still seeing the power of the church absolutely helps my testimony to know that this is a worldwide church. We went to the Mexico City Temple and it was just incredible. The temple was huge and the visitor center was incredible. This is just awesome. I don't really know how else to explain it.

I’ll share a spiritual thought cuz yeah, I am a missionary and my job is to share the message of Jesus Christ. In 3 Nephi 17:6 it says, “Behold, my bowels are filled with compassion towards you” It is short and simple but that was Jesus Christ’s response to the people in America crying because Jesus had to leave. I know that Jesus has compassion for all people who have ever lived and that when we are down or sad that he has been there and experienced it. He knows how we feel and he is the perfect example of how to be a loving and compassionate person.

Yo se que el Evangelio de Jesucristo es verdad. Yo se que el Libro de Mormon es palabras de Dios. Yo amo mi oportunidad de servir al señor. Yo sé que Jesucristo vive hoy y es el hijo de Dios.

If you have any questions be sure to contact me and I’ll get back to everyone next Wednesday. I love this work and I know that god is watching over me as I do his work for him.

Love you all

Elder Micheli
