1 Week in Chile! (Aug. 15, 2022)
Wow, a lot has happened since my last email! I won't go too in depth but if you wanna know more about it just let me know and I'll be more than happy to talk to you about it. Anyways, my last week in CCM was great and leaving the district was tough but we were definitely all ready to leave and get out in the field and work. The flight here was really rough and I only slept like an hour and a half so I have been way tired all week. We landed early on Tuesday morning and got through all the immigration stuff in the airport and President Doxey and his wife were right there ready for us and we all went to their house. We ate there with a couple other missionaries and then we all went to the mission office and got assigned to our areas and trainers and we were outta there. My trainer is Elder Melgarejo, he is from Paraguay, and he is one awesome dude. El es un CAPO MISIONERO! He has been great with me and it's been great to help me learn a lot of spanish. We are serving in San Fernando, the city is pretty big actually, it has over 70,000 people and only 1 branch, so we've got a bunch of work to get done. It's been difficult for us because we're whitewashed which means that we are both brand new to the area so we don't know anyone here, not even the members. So we've been doing a ton of work to get to know the members and just trying to find people on the street to teach. We are living here with the Zone Leaders of our zone, Elder Merrell and Elder Harris, they are awesome dudes and I can speak English to them so that is pretty nice. And it's so crazy because Elder Merrell is from WYOMING. He is from Star Valley, it's so crazy that we're even in the same mission let alone living in the same house! If anyone knows Chase Merrell from Star Valley lmk haha. Anyways I'll keep it pretty brief with all the work we've been up to cuz we haven't been able to get a whole lot done because neither of us know anyone here so we're really having to work hard. We've contacted so many people in the street and have just been trying to talk to every person possible and have lessons with all the members that we can. We are teaching one guy that we found on the street and he is really receptive and came to church yesterday and last night we taught him the restoration!! We're pretty hyped about that! Hopefully we can get him on a date for baptism because he is really liking the church! I'll leave it at that and if you want to hear more or talk to me about anything email me on here or on messenger and I'll talk to ya on mondays. My spiritual thought is simple and it's just to remember that Jesus and Heavenly Father both love you so much, and they love everyone, I promise y'all that!
