1st MISSION EMAIL!!! (July 2, 2022)

Hey everyone!! This week was great! I learned so much, felt the spirit a lot, and had so much fun! I've heard lots of negative things about home MTC and I can understand why it might suck, but honestly I am loving it so much! It is so cool to me that all of us missionaries from all over the country are all coming together for the same purpose to serve the lord for these next 2 years by serving other people and helping bring them unto christ.

The first 2 days seemed to drag on pretty long and they were pretty stressful because we were thrown into a lot of Spanish that I couldn't understand and definitely couldn't speak. The classes felt long and I was pretty worried it was going to be a very long 2 weeks. These last few days however, have been much different. Our district has gotten really close with each other and it's like we're a bunch of lifelong friends at this point. It's so exciting that we all get to meet each other in Mexico City and spend 4 weeks in  a classroom learning together. The closer that we've gotten, the more we share, and the more we share, the more spiritual our lessons become which is awesome!!! My companion is Elder Wendel and he is an absolute beast!! He's a 6'6 unit that started for a 6A school in Utah, so we're already confident we can take any and all companionships at the MTC in 2v2. Not only is he a stud physically, but he sure is spiritually. Studying with him every day and combining his testimony with mine has been amazing. He is a huge reason why I'm loving home MTC and I'm already pretty confident I have a new lifelong friend in him and the others in my district.

Some spiritual thoughts that I've had and I'm sure lot's of you don't care too much to hear these but I think they are awesome!! My first one is a poem that a sister in my district shared and wrote herself!! I have no idea how she isn't publishing stuff for the church because she is good! Her poem says, "I cannot see the air in my lungs but I can feel when it's there. I cannot see the knowledge that I learn but I can feel the comfort that it bears. I cannot see God's love for me but I can feel that it's great. And when I learned to feel and not see I knew that it was faith." That is so awesome for me to know because there are people out there who may have the smallest bit of faith but that little faith of god can lead them to a greater desire and an interest to know more about being children of god. Last thing I wanna say spiritually as for myself is in D&C 82:3 says "For of him unto much is given much is required..." I know that God has blessed me greatly throughout my entire life and now I am expected to use the blessings he's given me to be a representative of his son and preach the gospel to the people in Chile.

Sorry that was pretty long, I'm sure they'll get a lot shorter in the future but right now I am just so excited to be a missionary and had such a big change to my life this week I just felt like I had to share. There are so many more cool experiences from this week I could share with all you guys but if you're like me and open an email that's super long you probably won't read the whole thing. If you do want to hear more from me about my week feel free to email me. Make sure you guys keep me updated with everything that's going on while I'm gone. I can't wait to get emails from everyone!! I wish everyone the best!

Elder Micheli
