Time to Leave (Oct. 31, 2022)

Hey everyone! If you couldn't already guess it from the subject I am getting transferred. So my time here in San Fernando is up and I'm super sad to leave. Saying goodbye to everyone these last couple days has been really tough. It's tough to leave people when we have helped them progress so far and they're still progressing but we just have to leave and hope they keep progressing. So I am really sad to be leaving this area here because I love it so much, but... I am crazy excited about this opportunity. I am headed to the one other sector in the mission that I actually know and have been in, I'm going to Chimbarongo!! And yeah, Elder Holman is gonna be my comp... wow! This will be a huge challenge for us newbies but it's an opportunity to work super hard and progress a ton together. Words literally can't describe how excited I am to start working there! I am pretty darn sad to leave Elder Melgarejo, he was a great trainer and the only trainer I'll ever have in the mission and he did a great job! I'll never forget my amazing time with him in San Fernando!

So this weekend was the District Conference, which is the same as Stake Conference, but you can't have one of those if you aren't a stake haha. President Doxey gave a great talk there and really all the talks were super good, this place is really progressing and I'm so glad that I get to be a part of it. I am leaving this city but I get to stay in the same district which is great. We have had the chance to take a lot of pictures with a lot of people and we've been saying our goodbyes since Saturday. It's my first taste of how hard some of these transfers are gonna be here in the mission. 

I'll leave you guys more information about Chimbarongo and Elder Holman and all that once we get goin, but for now in this email I'm just sending out the notice that I'm about to have a change and all that and I'm super excited. I also wanna type a little bit of spanish for y'all as well to finish up.

Yo se que la obra misional es la obra del señor. Estoy tan agradecido por esta oportunidad para poder servir cada día. Se que esta es la Iglesia de Jesucristo y él está con nosotros como misioneros cada día y él está ayudando a nosotros compartir su mensaje. Dios quiere bendecir cada uno de nosotros y tenemos que permitirle, podemos por medio de actuando en las impresiones del espiritu. Se que cristo vive.

Good morning everyone! I hope you've all had a great week, my week was awesome down here in Chile! I'm definitely missing March Madness and the start of track season, but there's nothing I'd rather miss it for than being here in the mission helping the people and making memories!  Things are going very well right now in San Javier, and I'm so happy to be serving here! Transfer news came this week and Elder Biggs got separated, we had an awesome 2 transfers together, made a ton of awesome memories and were able to help a lot of people! I'll miss him a lot, but he's got a bright mission ahead of him and a lot of bigger and better things coming his way! So my news is that I'm going to train for my last 2 transfers here and stay in San Javier. I love this area and I'm very excited to end my mission here! Joy in Service (Feb. 26, 2024)

Hey everyone I'm back after another quick week of hard work! This week flew by and it was a lot of fun! My favorite highlights from the week were the service that we got to do for some members. Our lunch on Thursday was with a family out in the country and they have a little ranch with cows and everything and I was so happy to be there. I never thought that I could be so happy to smell cow poop and move hay bales but I sure was. It made me pretty trunky honestly haha. Our other service was on Saturday and it was with some other members that live out in the country as well and we got to cut down a bunch of weeds and grass with a scythe and I loved it!  I love the joy that we feel as we serve other people! Serving without expecting anything in return, just helping someone because you love them and they need help, it's the best feeling! Weekly (Mar. 4, 2024)

Hey everyone, I really haven't had time to write today and sorry this email is going to be really short, but I'm keeping at my goal and I'm not missing any more weekly emails. This week I had an exchange with Elder Calizaya and it was a lot of fun, he's about to finish his mission and he really helped me see how to have a positive attitude until the end of the mission! We did some fun service stacking hay on Saturday, I was so happy throwing those haybales haha. We had some friends come to church and they're really excited to get baptized here in a few weeks!
