Transfers and More Changes (Apr. 17, 2023)

Hey everyone back at home!! Another week has passed by here in the mission! I'm almost halfway done now, so so crazy! I'm loving Chepica, this little town is so great and it's having a huge influence on me! These last 6 weeks with Elder Wendel have been some of the greatest moments of the mission and honestly my entire life! This last transfer was a blast!

So transfer news came in on Saturday and my companionship with Elder Wendel is sadly coming to an end. He's going up to the city in Rancagua and is gonna be a ZL up there, huge shoutout to Elder Wendel, he's a DAWG and has had a huge influence on Chepica and has this place all set up for me to lead it! I'm obviously staying here, and I'm going to be training again, I'm also going to be our DL now. I'm really excited, but I know these next couple months are going to be pretty tough! It's time for me to train, DL, find, teach, baptize, start a group, and open a branch! This is gonna be crazy haha!

We got some good work done this week, found some new people and had people at church! That was all great! My highlight was for sure our service that we did for Hermana Ines this last Saturday, we got to build her a whole greenhouse for her garden out of some boards in her backyard, with some shovels and hammer and nails! I loved it haha! It reminded me so much of a lot of projects on the ranch and I just felt like I was in paradise honestly!

I loved the talk "After the Fourth Day" by Elder Bassett in this last general conference. He told the story of Lazarus and when Jesus brought him back to life he explained the significance that he had been dead for 4 days. After most people would lose hope, Jesus still came and raised Lazarus from the dead. He said, "as we move forward with faith in Jesus Christ, the fourth day will always come. He will always come to our aid or to raise our hopes back to life.” I love this example, because sometimes we are in trials or feel stuck, but if we truly keep moving forward with faith in Christ and do what he commands, the "4th day" will come and he will be there to heal us. He also shared another analogy from the story that he had the people that were there move the rock, and do all the other physical things that they were capable of in that situation, yet only Jesus had the power to say, "Lazarus, come forth." He taught us that after we do all we can with faith, he will work the miracle, and he also permits us to be a part of his great work! I love this talk so much and I invite you all to listen to it!

I'd love to hear from y'all sometime!!

Elder Micheli
