Floods! (June 26, 2023)

Hey everyone, how are things going? I hope summer has been nice for y'all, let me know how it's going yeah? Anyways I had a pretty wild week, if any of you guys have checked the news, Chile is super flooded. Our whole mission has really bad floods, like really bad though. It started raining Wednesday and just hasn't been stopping, by far the most rain I've ever seen, but I know that isn't saying much coming from Wyoming, but it has still been crazy. All the rain has made the work hard though, we had a lot of lessons fall through, and not a lot of people come through that we're teaching, I have for sure been learning patience lately haha.

Something crazy that happened was a lady got hit by a car right next to us. We heard a loud bang and looked and this lady went flying through the air, I thought for sure she was dead. It was pouring rain and we had to help load her up in the ambulance, it was a little traumatizing. Pray for her! So there have been a lot of floods, and lucky enough for us in Chepica there's no river close by, so we've been okay. Other areas haven´t been so lucky though, for example, the Elders in Nancauga right down the road from us had to evacuate and their house flooded and everything got ruined. There will be many service opportunities here soon in the mission.

One scripture I'll share today is in Luke 9:23, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." I love that this scripture says we have to take up our crosses DAILY. Conversion is an ongoing process, not just for when times are good or when we need God's help but always. Each day we have to make the conscious decision to take up our cross and follow the Savior no matter how hard it might be.
