San Javier (Jan. 8, 2024)
Hey everyone!! Here I am staying up on my new year's resolution to write an email every week haha! So much happened this week, a lot of unexpected things and miracles!
So last P-day we went to the beach in Iloca and it was a lot of fun! It was also packed with people because it was new years, but it was a lot of fun! Tuesday we had MLC in San Fernando and it was a great meeting! At the end, President talked to me and let me know he feels like I need to go be a trainer again and that he was going to have me go serve in San Javier. So the next day we had Zone Conference in Curico and I had to show up with my bags packed and ready to go, I got my new companion there, his name is Elder Biggs and he's great!! He's from California and likes football, we're getting along great and I'm so grateful that I get to be his companion. It was sad to leave Curico and say goodbye to the people there, but I have felt a lot of peace and really know that the Lord has sent me here and there are many reasons why I'm serving here.
Here's some info about my new area, it's the furthest south in our entire mission, down below Talca, it's a smaller town and reminds me a lot of Chimbarongo where I served about a year ago. We are a branch with a very small church building, but we filled it yesterday with about 60 people! There are some really amazing members here! Recently, they changed the borders of our mission and added another little town called Villa Alegre into our area, it used to be part of the Concepcion mission, but now it's part of San Javier instead of Linares. I'm really enjoying getting to know more and more of Chile! We also have Constitucion in our district which is on the coast, so it will be really cool to be going there as well!
When I got here there weren't many people in teaching because this area was just recently opened, so we went to work and found a lot of people to teach! One awesome miracle is yesterday we felt the spirit really strong to knock a random door and then we could teach the Lady who answered right there in front of her house, she told us she was going through some hard things and was asking God to send her someone that could help her and right then we showed up at her door, it was crazy! We found and taught a family of 5, and quite a few other people! We have some really big goals for this week and I know that as we keep working hard and putting our faith in the Lord, miracles will continue to happen! I'm super happy to be out here, it was a sudden change, but it's been a really good one!
I'd love to hear some updates from home! I love and miss you all so much! I'll be home before y'all know it!!
Elder Micheli
