Easter and Conference (April 8, 2024)
Buenas tardes a todos!! How is everyone doing?? I hope you all had a great Easter and were able to enjoy and learn a lot from conference! Things have been awesome down here in San Javier lately! I'll do my best to give a little update!
So last Monday we went to a waterfall close to Constitucion and it was amazing! It was a really pretty hike and the place literally looked like the waters of Mormon! It was so sweet, but I had no internet and didn't get an email in last week. That's my bad and I'm really sorry! I've really enjoyed getting to see new places in my time here in Chile, I love all of the cool adventures that I've had here and I hope I can get some more here in the next 2 months!
Ok as far as the work goes here in my area, things are really good! This week we pretty much stopped teaching everyone who hasn't been coming to church and we've committed to find and teach people who are willing to progress and be baptized right now! It took a lot of faith, but we've been seeing a lot of miracles thanks to it. We were able to put our friend Adiel on date this week, he is super prepared and has finally decided that he needs to accept the gospel in his life. We are teaching another part member family and have their daughter Laura on date to be baptized at the end of this month, things are going really well with them! We were also able to find some new people through contacting this week who are super prepared and watched general conference are really excited about the gospel! Things are really rolling and there is so much more potential here!
An awesome highlight from my week is yesterday, Felipe came from Chimbarongo to watch conference with me and catch up a bit! It was so great to see such a great friend, and hard to believe it's been over a year since I was there serving in Chimbarongo. It's amazing to think of how many relationships that I've been able to build here, I will truly have a piece of my heart in Chile forever!
Ok a little about General Conference, there is so much I learned and I can't wait to go back and study a lot of the talks. There are so many different things I learned, but one thing that I really loved was the importance of having our foundation built upon Christ, and that we have to always be progressing spiritually. We can't slow down or stop, we have to keep going spiritually. I also love that we weren't only taught that we have to keep going, but we were taught how to. There are so many beautiful things in this restored gospel to help us progress spiritually. There was a huge focus on temples, on prayer, on covenants, on families, on the words of Christ and so much more! I know this gospel is true and it's so important that we allow it to shape us into the disciples of Christ that God sent us to be.
I'd love to hear about how things are going back at home! I hope you all have a great week! Love y'all!
Elder Micheli
