The Best Two Years!!
Hey everyone!! This is going to be my last email of the mission! It's so hard to believe, but what an amazing experience I have had in Chile! I can honestly say that serving a mission is the best decision I have made up until this point of my life. There have been so many ups and downs but overall, it has been a priceless experience and I have been able to learn and change in so many ways!
Something very important that I have learned while in the mission is that Christ truly is with us and his power is real. I know without a doubt that I alone couldn't have served the mission that I did, but thanks to Christ's power I have been given the strength to get up every single day for 2 years and preach the gospel, in a foreign country, in a different language, with diverse companions, in extreme heat, in rain, in floods, while being sick, and many other challenges that come with serving a mission. If this wasn't Christ's true church, there's no way that us young missionaries would be able to do what we do. I have witnessed miracles daily for these past 2 years, and I can't deny that this is the Lord's work and he is guiding us and using us to bless his children.
One of the biggest things that I've learned about is the importance of simply serving other people. Doing things for other people because we love them is powerful, when we see past what we want and think about the needs of others, we are acting like Christ would, and he gives us strength and power as we do that. We can serve others in millions of different ways, all we have to do is see past our own conveniences and love others and see how we can help them. The mission has been an amazing place to practice this type of Christlike service because as a missionary I didn't have to worry about normal life responsibilities, I could focus more on others and how to love and serve them. Loving and serving the people here in Chile has been incredible!
There are so many things I could talk about that I've learned in the mission, so many stories I could tell, but it would take me an eternity to write it all haha. However, I am looking forward to sharing my experiences with all of you when I get home this week. My homecoming talk will be this Sunday, June 16th at 9:00am at the Bridger Valley Stake Center. After church is over we will all meet at my house to share a big lunch with everyone at about 11:30 and we will be able to share all afternoon. I am so excited to see everyone and to be home back in beautiful Wyoming! It's been great here, but I've sure missed home and I can't wait to see what's next. I love y'all so much! See ya soon!
